On July 18, 2026, runners, athletes, and members of Singapore’s fitness community gathered at VivoCity for FOLDED IN SG. Built around movement, origami engineering, and urban style, the event marked the official introduction of the ANTA FOLD to the Asia-Pacific market and completed a global launch journey that also visited Shanghai and Los Angeles.
Running From VivoCity Towards Sentosa
The morning began with a community run from the ANTA VivoCity store towards Sentosa Gateway. Local running communities and fitness enthusiasts were joined by Singapore national track athletes Harry Irfan Curran and Laavinia Jaiganth, along with invited content creators.
As the group moved towards Sentosa, the waterfront setting and shared morning pace turned the launch into an active celebration of Singapore’s running community. Participants were able to trial the ANTA FOLD H1 along one of the city’s most recognizable routes, providing a fitting first experience for a running shoe created around urban movement.
At the center of the shoe is a visible Waterbomb origami-inspired structure. The folded geometry is designed to compress as the foot lands and recover through toe-off, helping the cushioning respond as the runner moves into each new step.
Bringing Origami Engineering to Life
After the run, the focus shifted from movement to making. An origami workshop and technology-sharing session gave participants a closer look at how folded structures influenced the design of the ANTA FOLD.
Instead of explaining the shoe through technical language alone, the workshop turned its central idea into something guests could see and create for themselves. By folding paper and exploring the principles behind the design, participants discovered how a simple geometric structure can support a more adaptable cushioning experience.
Exploring ANTA FOLD Beyond the Run
An interactive styling wall also showed how the ANTA FOLD can move between running, commuting, work, and everyday plans. Its sculpted midsole gives the shoe a distinctive visual identity, while its lightweight cushioning makes it suited to regular 5 to 10 km urban runs and active days around the city.
