Tested: G21 3

The third version of the G21 family of shoes features improvements that, we believe, take the shoe from a daily trainer to the daily trainer—possibly the only daily trainer you'll want or need.

Our proof points? A public shoe trial in collaboration with running group X-Trailblazers and a by-invite trial including some speedy road runners, gnarly trail runners, running shoe geeks and coaches.

Mount Faber with X-Trailblazers

20 runners registered for our first try-and-buy shoe trial led by X-Trailblazers’ run leaders as we laced up and took the G21 3 from ANTA VivoCity to the roads up and around Mt Faber. Both seasoned runners and basketball student-athletes gathered at the store on a Thursday evening, and after a warm-up at the Marang Road Carpark, we set off towards Kampong Bahru Road to begin the infamous Mount Faber Road loop.

Here’s what some of them had to say👇🏽

Go_jasminegoh

“I ran in it for the first time at Mt Faber—a typical 7km loop with X-Trailblazers.”

“It is stable and supportive enough to run downhill quickly.”

“Feels light when running uphill with efficient energy return on the flats.”

 s.xmxnthx_

"Bouncy, yet firm, quite stable and lightweight.”

Deric

“For a shoe of its price, it is of great value for money because of its built quality.”

“I believe I can put between 800−1000km, and the outsole has no visible signs of wear despite going fast on the downhill.”

With positive feedback from the group, we’d like to give more people the opportunity to try the G21 3—so leave a comment at the end of this article to let us know if you’re game to run with us.

Pushing the G21 3 to the limits

Next, we hosted a group of runners who can stress-test the G21 3. Having tried a multitude of shoes between them and running a significant amount of mileage each week, we partner with them to test our shoes and give us feedback through varied lenses.

@sabrinarniaaa

“I have a bunion on my right foot, so finding the right shoes is a struggle.”

“They are light and have enough room in the forefoot to accommodate the bunion socks I wear when running–I went ½ a size up”

“I've used the shoes for treadmill and road runs without issues.”

@unbelievaboy

“Initial impression is sickkkk hand-to-heart 🤞🏽Ran init for more than 20K, varied paces and places. Light, stable, snappy ride. I don’t think anything at 139SGD compares 🫢🫡”

@Tsurayuki

“ANTA’s new lightweight cushioned trainer.”

“I’ve run 60km so far [8−25km runs, and even some trails😄]”

“The G21 3 feels well rounded for paces >4:30min/km 💨”

And in the words of the LAST Running Collective, "Shoe’s good. Company’s good. What’s to ask for?"

Try the G21 3 today—for everyday runs, long runs and maybe every run.
